Dhawa Rezkyna
B. 1991
Dhawa Rezkyna is an Indonesian contemporary artist whose background in Industrial Machinery and formal training at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Surakarta shape his distinctive visual language. His works explore the intersection of humans, nature, and technology, often portraying figures and objects wrapped in synthetic skins—plastic, porcelain—as metaphors for hidden emotions and layered identities in the digital age.
Blending digital aesthetics with tangible materials, Dhawa creates hybrid realities that reflect social media’s influence, shifting notions of self, and the tension between natural and artificial experience. He has held solo exhibitions including The Bloom Episode (Langgeng Art Foundation, 2021) and To Thrive (Artotel Yogyakarta, 2020), and participated in group shows such as Art Jakarta (2024), Surreal Flatlands at K11 Art Mall, Shanghai (2025), F.O.M.A in Taipei, and Two of a Kind at 19Karen Gallery, Australia.
