Guntur Timur

Guntur Timur is a visual artist and art educator from Bandung, Indonesia. His artistic practice explores the intersections of visual language, technology, and contemporary spirituality, often reflecting on themes of perception, cultural memory, and the afterimage. He holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Visual Arts from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), where he developed a multidisciplinary approach that blends painting, media, and installation.
Guntur has exhibited his works in Indonesia and internationally, with solo exhibitions in Jakarta, Bandung, Guangzhou, and Karachi, as well as group exhibitions at prominent venues such as the National Gallery of Indonesia, Langgeng Art Foundation, Selasar Sunaryo, Lawangwangi Creative Space, and Ciputra Artpreneur. In 2006, he participated in an artist residency at the University of Karachi, supported by Vasl Art–Pakistan. Alongside his studio practice, he teaches Art–Design & Media and History of Art that continually informs and enriches his creative journey.
