Willy Himawan
B. 1983
Willy Himawan was born in Denpasar on 13 February 1983, and currently resides in Bandung. He completed his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He teaches at the Fine Arts Program, Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) ITB, and is part of ITB’s Fine Arts Research Group, specializing in contemporary painting, intra/multicultural studies, and Balinese art.
In addition to his academic role, Willy, a native of Bali, has been actively participating in both group and solo exhibitions since 2002, showcasing his works in cities across Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Bali) as well as abroad (Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, China, Japan, Germany, and the United States). Several of his works are held in public and private collections, including the GAFA Museum in Guangzhou, Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Centre in Thailand, ASEAN COCI, Grand Indonesia Kempinski, ARMA Museum in Bali, and Borobudur Kujon Museum.
